Security and Traffic
From 6 a.m., officers held a readiness parade at Monas before being deployed to security posts. Dozens of Brimob (police mobile brigade) tactical vehicles were also seen entering the city center ahead of the protests. Security involves the military (TNI), the police, the Jakarta provincial government, and the parliament’s internal security.
“We also invite everyone, when expressing their aspirations as regulated by law, to keep it safe and peaceful and to protect public facilities,” Budi Hermanto said.
The Jakarta Metro Police traffic directorate deployed about 1,000 personnel on routes prone to congestion, including the Sudirman–Thamrin corridor. As of midday, traffic was reported to be flowing normally with no road closures. The Jakarta Transportation Agency prepared situational traffic diversions around Monas, Tugu Tani, and the DPR/MPR building.
