PROBOLINGGO — Probolinggo Regency officially opened the Seven Beaches Festival at Bentar Beach, Curahsawo Village, Gending District, on Saturday (7/11). Regent Mohammad Haris, known as Gus Haris, opened the festival, which runs until 15 November 2026.
As WartaBromo reported, the festival features seven beaches in Probolinggo: Bahak, Gili Ketapang, Bentar, Klasik, Duta, Greenthing and Bohay. The events aim to showcase coastal tourism while boosting local businesses.
The “3B” Concept and Three-Day Stays
Gus Haris introduced the “3B” tourism concept, Bromo, Bermi and Bentar, linking mountain, forest and beach destinations. The regency hopes visitors will stay up to three days rather than just passing through, increasing spending at local stalls, guesthouses and small businesses.
The festival is backed by partners through social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) programs, including Semen Indonesia, Sasa, YTL, PLN Nusantara Power, PTPN, BRI, BSI and Bank Jatim. Edy Eko Cahyono of BP BUMN’s TJSL division said such collaboration is key to ensuring regional tourism brings real economic benefits to communities.
A Thousand Glipang Dancers
The opening featured the Glipang dance, a Probolinggo tradition, performed by 1,000 dancers. Probolinggo Police Chief AKBP Asmida Rizki Siregar pledged security support so the whole event runs safely for visitors.
For coastal villages, the festival is a chance to promote local products, food and community-run tourism services, while testing their readiness for more visitors in the future.
