JAKARTA — Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid was finally questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. His arrival was unexpected: the KPK said no examination had been scheduled for him that day.
Nusron arrived at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta at around 9:22 a.m. and left at 2:46 p.m., after roughly five hours of questioning. “So there was actually no examination scheduled for today,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said, as quoted by CNN Indonesia. Budi said Nusron came to answer an earlier summons. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto added, “Maybe he came on his own initiative.”
Two Missed Summonses
The questioning came after Nusron twice failed to answer KPK summonses. On Wednesday, 7 October 2026, he was absent citing an internal ministry agenda. A rescheduled summons on Thursday, 15 October 2026, was also missed because he was abroad.
At the time of the first summons, the KPK stated that Nusron was being called as a witness. “He is scheduled to be examined in his capacity as a witness in this case,” Budi said then, as quoted by Kontan.
The Summarecon HGB Bribery Case
The examination relates to alleged bribery and gratuities within the ATR/BPN ministry, including over the processing of a Building Use Right (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency. The KPK alleges that Rp1.5 billion was paid to lift a block on part of land managed by Summarecon, which was followed by the splitting of the HGB. The KPK is also investigating other alleged receipts linked to land services and to staff transfers, rotations and promotions at the ministry.
The KPK has named eight suspects: Bogor I Land Office head Sontang Coin Manurung, Golkar politician Fahd El Fouz alias Fahd A Rafiq, former Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto, PT Summarecon Agung Tbk President Director Adrianto Pitojo Adhi, ATR/BPN Director General of Land and Spatial Control Lampri, and Muhammad Fakhry, Erwin and Rizal Pahlevi. The KPK describes four of them, Arif, Fahd, Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry, as people trusted by Nusron.
What Remains to Be Examined
The closeness of several suspects to Nusron is one of the issues investigators will look into. Since searching the ATR/BPN ministry offices in mid-September, the KPK has said Nusron’s links to the four suspects would be explored during the investigation. The KPK is also still questioning witnesses to establish the sequence of events and each party’s role.
The KPK has not yet announced the results of Nusron’s questioning, and his status in the case is that of a witness. Earlier, on 18 September, Nusron said he did not know about the alleged bribe from PT Summarecon to the Bogor I Land Office and left the legal process entirely to the KPK. “We follow the process and leave it entirely to the KPK as law enforcers,” he said, as quoted by Katadata.
Desa Bersuara will continue to follow developments in this case.
